Brown And Beautiful
18/09/2020
You see it's not your fault
When your eyes
Do a double take over my skin
It's because I carry two great lands upon my shoulder
My heritage shines from within my skin
And my thoughts from my eyes
I am a mixture traditions and fashions
A swirl of culture and adaptations
My skin carries so many different colours
As if god himself contemplated over me for a century and a half
As if in the end he decided to paint me the colour of his greatest creation
The very ground that we live on
So you see that is why my skin is brown
Cause when multiple colours and cultures collide
A colour combining them all is born
So you see it isn't your fault
I carry so much in my skin
Your poor eyes can't handle it all
