No Longer

24/10/2020

You have twisted our arms

And shut our eyes

Until you got your way

You have

Broken our spirts

And stepped on our revolutions

You have done everything in order to

Break us apart

And only then

Have you achieved

A model minority

One who doesn't speak unless spoken to

You have poked and prodded at us

Until we have become a silent silhouette

Of our own oppressors

You have fed us radical and racist ideals

For more than two hundred years

Taught us our skin was dirty

That we are the colour of the dirt

And that we never deserved rights

Told us that we were savages

Ones who needed colonising

Taught us that we had no sense

Of society or community

You taught us that we were never equal

So how dare we ever ask for equality
