Word Vomit
01/09/2020
When I look at you
I Swallow my words
Spiting out a jumbled mess
When you ask me if I'm ok
And As you envelope me in your hug
I break down in your arms
Wailing and crying
Trying to explain between sobs
You say you don't understand
Scratching at the wound on my heart
You ask me to repeat
So I start again
Only to realise I'm muttering once again
For how could my deepest thoughts
Be so easy to say
My words pent from the midnight hour
Can't form at the stroke of day
Words written in the moonlight
don't shine in the light of day
And as you rock me back and forth
Trying to ease my breath
Telling me I'm ok
I try to say the words that are in my brain
Only to realise I'm muttering once again
